Effective January 1, 2001, the Town of West Springfield changed from a Representative Town Meeting form of Government to a City form of Government, with a Mayor and nine Councilors, five of which are elected At-Large.
The Charter was also updated on November 3, 2009. A copy of this updated version is provided here in an informational edition only. Official copies of both the original and the updated versions are available for a fee in the Town Clerk's Office.
