Veteran's Ceremonies & Events
Upcoming Veterans’ Events: On Thursday, May 24, 2012 @ 08:30 a ceremony presented by the students, teachers, principal of Fausey elementary school and the Department of Veterans' Services will occur in the Fausey School gymnasium.
On Saturday, May 19, 2012 @ 09:00 volunteers are needed to flag the graves@ the St. Thomas cemetery rain or shine.
The West Springfield Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 28th , 2012. @09:00. Any group wishing to participate contact the Director of Veterans' Services @ 263-3019. Preceding the parade @07:30 there will be joint brief wreath ceremony on the Vietnam Veterans' Bridge involving the West Springfield and Agawam Veterans' Councils. The bridge is located near the old Strathmore Paper Co. All are welcomed.
The West Springfield Veterans' Council is providing granite rememberance pavers at a cost of $75.00 to be placed in front of the World War II Monument on the Town Common. Contact Larry Del Greco @ 781-7545 for further details.
